This New Hotone Pedal Might Be the Weirdest Pitch Machine You’ll Hear This Year

AudioTechnology has just reviewed the new Hotone Freqlux, and it sounds like this thing is not playing by the usual pitch pedal rules.

The review describes Freqlux as “far from your typical harmoniser or pitch-shifter”, calling it a pitch-based effects pedal with a seriously deep bag of tricks. With three harmonising modules, pitch movement up or down three octaves, detune-style modulation, panning, delay times, feedback, MIDI control and enough tweakability to make sound designers grin, this is clearly not your average stompbox.

AudioTechnology also notes that Freqlux can get into sounds you may not have experienced before, especially if you are into experimental guitar tones, synth textures, massive harmonies, strange movement and MIDI-controlled performance setups. It might take a little menu diving, but the payoff sounds pretty wild.
